Overview

Starcat insights help you see the shape of your library and understand a single repository without leaving the app.

My Insights

Review:
  • Organization progress and triage metrics
  • Technology / language / topic-style distributions (as shown in the UI)
  • Project status and assets that may need cleanup
  • Action items that drill down into the matching repository list
Switch scope between All Stars and Knowledge Base, then refresh when you want a fresh snapshot.

Repository Insights

Typical sections (availability depends on network, permissions, and cache):
  • Star growth and collaboration activity
  • Commit trends and contributors
  • Release cadence
  • Project health, community standards, and security signals
Content should stay stable while you switch repositories or refresh; some GitHub stats endpoints may briefly show a generating state and retry automatically.

Private My Projects

For private repos listed under My Projects, metrics that require elevated access use the GitHub App token. Some public-only signals (for example certain OpenSSF paths) may remain unavailable.

Insight context for AI and RAG

After insights are generated, Starcat can attach them as a removable, read-only XML context to: You should see clear status when insights are unavailable, when a custom prompt omits them, or when the app falls back. Library-level insight aggregates can also feed knowledge-base Q&A as shared facts.
